Client Responsibilities
Valid Identification
Students must carry a valid learner’s permit or driver’s licence at all times. Overseas licence holders must present their original licence. If the licence is not in English, a NAATI-certified translation (physical paper copy) is required. Instructors will verify these documents before each lesson begins.
Lesson Timing
Lesson time begins once the student is seated inside the vehicle. If you arrive late, the lost time will be deducted from your lesson duration. We strongly recommend notifying us in advance if you expect to be late.
Footwear Requirements
Students must wear closed-toe, safe, and comfortable shoes. Barefoot driving or open footwear (including thongs, sandals, or heels) is not permitted.
Mobile Phone Policy
Mobile phone use during lessons is strictly prohibited as it can create unsafe situations. Please ensure your phone is switched off, on silent, or in aeroplane mode before the lesson begins.
Vision Aids
If you require glasses or contact lenses for driving, you must bring and wear them during every lesson.
Medical Conditions
Students must inform their instructor of any medical conditions or medications that could affect their driving ability.
Communication
Once the instructor arrives at the meeting point, they will contact you via phone call, SMS, WhatsApp, or email. Please remain reachable before each lesson.
Dash Cam Policy
GO DRIVING vehicles may be equipped with internal and external dash cameras for safety, training, and verification purposes. By booking a lesson, the student acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- Dash cam recordings may capture video, audio, and driving behaviour during the lesson.
- Recordings may be used as evidence in the event of an accident, insurance claim, dispute, or investigation.
- Recordings may also be used for internal instructor training, quality control, and professional development.
- All recordings are handled confidentially and will not be shared with third parties unless required by law, insurance providers, or when necessary to resolve an incident.
- Students may request confirmation of whether a specific lesson was recorded; however, GO DRIVING cannot guarantee footage availability due to storage limitations or technical issues.
Payment Policy
All payments must be made in advance in order to secure your booking.
No payment = no booking.
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
GO DRIVING follows a strict 24-hour notice policy. Please read carefully:
24 Hours’ Notice
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel without penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours of the lesson will incur 80% of the lesson fee (including surcharges).
Less Than 12 Hours
Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice will incur 100% of the lesson fee (including surcharges).
No-Show
Failure to attend without notice will result in a 100% lesson fee (including surcharges).
Package Lesson Cancellations
When cancelling a package lesson, fees will be calculated based on single-lesson rates, not package rates.
Mondays & Public Holidays
For lessons scheduled on Mondays or the day after a public holiday, cancellations must be made by 12 PM of the previous working day to avoid being charged the full lesson fee.
Rescheduling
GO DRIVING reserves the right to reschedule or cancel lessons with sufficient notice to students.
Medical Cancellations
Medical cancellations must be supported by a written certificate from a General Practitioner to qualify for a penalty-free cancellation.
Exceptions
Exceptions may be considered in cases of extenuating circumstances.
Please understand that these policies allow us to maintain a fair schedule for all students. Driving lessons require specialised dual-control vehicles and dedicated instructor time. Late cancellations make it challenging to offer the slot to another student.
Package Terms
- Package fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once the first lesson has been completed.
- Packages are valid for six (6) months from the purchase date and must be used within that period.
Drive Test Terms
- Clients must provide accurate test information (date, time, and location). Incorrect information may result in additional fees, for which the client is responsible. GO DRIVING is not liable for rescheduling or refunds in these circumstances.
- Clients must meet all VicRoads requirements on the test day. Failure to provide the required documentation may result in rejection of the test, with no refund from VicRoads or GO DRIVING.
Refund Policy
- All fees are non-refundable.
- Exceptions may be considered only in cases of extenuating circumstances.
Personal Data
Students agree to provide identification and contact information, including date of birth, full address, phone number, email, photos, and licence details. This information is used exclusively for internal client management and record-keeping.
Personal data will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.
Zero Alcohol Policy
Students must maintain 0.00 BAC and must not consume any prohibited substances before lessons. You must notify us immediately if you have consumed anything that may impair your ability to drive.
Instructors reserve the right to refuse service if they suspect the student is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In such cases, no refund or rescheduled lesson will be provided.
GO DRIVING may refuse bookings from clients displaying antisocial or unsafe behaviour. If a learner poses a safety risk (e.g., signs of drowsiness, aggression, agitation, or intoxication), the instructor may terminate the lesson immediately. The student is still responsible for the full lesson fee.
Fines and Penalties
By law, all traffic violations during a lesson are the responsibility of the driver. Any fines incurred during the lesson will be transferred to the student’s name. Students must always follow the instructor's guidance.
Recommendations
Due to the nature of our work, unexpected delays (such as heavy traffic) may occasionally occur. Please allow an additional 15–30 minutes beyond your scheduled lesson time.
If a delay occurs, the instructor will always make up the time.
GO DRIVING reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to students and will apply to all future bookings.
